Winter Boating Holiday
There are plenty of activities that you can do as you travel to many places around the globe. Some people look for new destinations to see amazing sights or some magnificent architecture or eat in quaint cafes and restaurants. For the adventurous or more active travelers, however, they usually look for more exhilarating activities to do such as having a winter holiday (Winterurlaub) going boating or sailing. One particular place that you can go to if you want to have an amazing holiday during the winter would be Mayrhofen.
Located in Tyrol in Austria, Mayrhofen is in the Ziller River Valley, an hour away from Innsbruck, the capital city of Tyrol. The town offers plenty of winter sports activities such as hiking, skiing, mountain biking and paragliding. Tourists usually go here to ski and do some boating.
Because Mayrhofen is situated between the Ahorn and the Penken mountains, tourists can go skiing in the winter and hiking, paragliding and mountain biking in the summer. The Penken mountain has the steepest piste in Austria, known as Harakiri, along with a wide range of ski runs that have varying levels of difficulty. The mountain is connected to the villages of Schwendau, Lanersbach and Finkenberg through lifts. On the other hand, the Ahorn mountain offers some easy and intermediate runs, along with a long and steep red run that was once used for the World Cup Downhill circuit. It was eventually removed as many thought that it was a bit dangerous.
The town is also where many travelers go to for an amazing winter boating holiday. Sailing is also one of the other activities which offers tourists the chance to relax and take in the breathtaking sights and attractions of the small town.
